WORKSHOPS by Corde Lisse performer Stevie Boyd - Lifeisarope

I am available to teach workshops specific in aerial technique.

I am an aerial tutor in for the professional preparation training of FLIC Circus School in Turin, Italy (member of FEDEC).

I have taught aerial technique to performance companies in Ireland (Fidget Feet aerial dance company and PaperDolls performance company), co-taught Corde Lisse in the Irish Aerial Dance Festival in 2011 and have taught at the Cork Circus and at the Galway Community Circus also in Ireland.   I led aerial dance workshops on various equipment at the Milano Danza Expo in 2012.  In 2014, I was invited to teach at Les Rencontres de Danse Aerienne by the company Drapes Aeriens, where I taught Tissu and Rope technique.

My research is based on using the body structure, and contact points to remove the force used on the muscle groups thus reducing fatigue yet at the same time developing the muscle chains of the body.  I look at the importance of the core, and create awareness of the independence of movement between parts the body, such as the chest, core, hips and legs.   Once these basic tools are learned then movements on the aerial equipment are studied through particular static positions and sequences.

Furthermore, I work on the rhythm of moves, especially installations of moves and drops, removing the impression of creating the figure in a methodical way and creating fluid and continuous movement in the air.
